Choose

To every thing there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heaven. Eccl 3:1
If you're enjoying this little story, please let me know. I'm at a crossroad here and I'm undecided which way to go.

You see, this is a romance and therefore it should have a happy ending. And we all want a happy ending, right? But what if there's a lot more to the story than you'll see here. Do I give you the happy ending and ruin the longer story for anyone who reads it later? or do I end it and leave you not quite satisfied? Hmmm...it's quite a dilemma I've created for myself.

Your vote could sway it. And if I don't hear from anyone well then I'll just have to decide on my own and you might not be happy with me but - you don't vote, you lose your right to complain.

Either way, I promise you this: if the story does not get published once it's finished I will offer it as a free download here, complete.

  2. Oh... this is kind of like "choose your own adventure." :)One of my sons used to love those books.

I know this vote won't help much, but I could go either way. If you feel like a happy ending here would be a spoiler for your book, then I don't blame you for not wanting to post it yet. On the other hand... you're right--I always look forward to the ending where everything finally works out beautifully.

  4. Well, looks like a happy ending it will be - but bear in mind this is the "Readers Digest Condensed Version" of the story. LOL

  5. Hummm.......I'm TORN....... :-) ...... I kinda like the idea of leaving it where it's at, celebrating when you contract this wonderful story, and thereby giving your readers/blog followers what they're hoping for. I only say this because you've volunteered, out of sheer graciousness, to post the "ending" here at the blog no matter what --- but I have the feeling we'll be reading this in book form, Donna! :-)

  6. Thank you, Marianne, for the vote of confidence. I really am torn here. If I give the happy ending I will be leaving out a huge chunk of the story. If I don't then what I have in mind is a real cliff hanger. Oh woe to the writer who doesn't give her readership what they want...
